Invested £160-million in our road network; resurfaced over 300 miles of roads; across the County, delivered road improvement schemes and implemented over 130 local Road Safety schemes.
Led the establishment of Transport for the South East, our partnership of the area’s 16 transport authorities, which agreed a 30 year strategy setting an ambitious 2050 vision for the region with net-zero carbon, sustainable economic growth alongside integrated transport, digital and energy networks

We have increased our 10-year road maintenance spending plans by £31 million, or 15%.
This year, we will spend £8.9 million more on highways than previously budgeted, with extra funds for road safety, patching, maintenance and pavements.
We have submitted ambitious proposals to Government to deliver improved local bus services
We have brought forward a £35 million Major Road Networks DfT bid to deliver key junction improvements on the A22

Continue to invest more in and improve the condition of the County’s road network and public transport links; work with and press government to improve the A21, A22 & A27 and the High-Speed Rail connection to Hastings, Bexhill, and Eastbourne.
