This year's Summer Reading Challenge across Conservative-led East Sussex was a huge success. Many congratulations to the nearly 7,000 children who challenged themselves to read six books.
Throughout East Sussex, young people have visited the library and participated in dance duets, Lego workshops, archery and fencing!
Prizes are collected from local libraries or to receive the certificate in school, parents simply log-in to the child's library account and fill in the details.
In more library-related news, Libraries Week takes place in October and is an annual showcase and celebration of the best that the nation’s much-loved libraries have to offer, and the central role they play in supporting life-long learning.
To celebrate in East Sussex there will be a host of events including poet Henry Normal, thriller writer Elly Griffith and children’s author Jenny McLachlan introduces us to the Stink Fairy!
Finally, any primary school-aged children needing a hand with their homework need to discover Homework and Activity Clubs which feature support from trained volunteers. There is a fun activity at the end of each session, including Lego challenges, coding games, craft and more.
