Your Conservative county council continues to:
- Focus, as part of its Post-Covid Recovery Plan, on improving young people’s job and career opportunities; equipping them with the skills and training they need
- Deliver OUTSTANDING Children’s Services, as judged by OFSTED
- Support the £100 million investment in new school buildings, including new special schools
- Promote new apprenticeships and the Kickstart scheme
- Rollout our schools’ improvements and new buildings programme
- Invest in improving skills to attract good employers with well-paid careers for today’s and future generations
- Deliver improved educational standards and results
Since being re-elected, your Conservative county council has:
- Launched Excellence for All 21-23 which sets out the key ambitions for children and young adults across the County
- Extended the holiday Activity & Food Scheme through 2022
- Allocated £1.1-million of the Household Support Fund to provide food vouchers, in May and Summer school holidays, for those entitled to free school meals
- Opened a new Children’s home in the east of the county
- Maintained the Early Help programme
- Welcomed the Special Educational Needs (SEND) green paper as a step forward to maximising the potential of SEN children
