Your Conservative-run county council has...
Delivered high quality care services for those who needed them, including opening a new children’s home in the east of the county; worked with the NHS to improve health, wellbeing, and mental health services, reducing health inequalities.
We have worked to help people to help themselves by further developing our health and social care transformation programme to focus on changing care models. This will build on the developments that were accelerated by the pandemic and support recovery in a sustainable manner. Individual placements and care packages are now managed to ensure that people's needs are best met through appropriate care, in the right setting, and at the right time.
We have welcomed, and put into place support services for, over 900 of an expected 1500 Ukrainian refugees in the County, and allocated over 280 school places to Ukrainian children. We have agreed a £490,000 grant to three Voluntary Action Groups to plan and implement essential refugee support functions over the next year.

Continue to protect the vulnerable, young, old and those most in need; work to maintain and improve our OUTSTANDING Children’s OFSTED inspected services. We will continue to lead on integrated health and social care services with the NHS, as recognised by CQC as best practice.
The Council has been supporting vulnerable households with the cost of food, energy and other bills with £1.5 million from the COVID-19 Winter Grant scheme. The funding provided food vouchers to pupils eligible for free school meals during the half term holidays. We are also awarding grants ranging from £3,000 to £100,000 to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations to help them continue their vital work.
